The Perks of NOT Moving to Florida When You Retire
If you are planning to retire or have just done so, you don't have to move far away from your friends, family, and favorite activities to cut your housing costs
You can stay in California and move to a much less expensive home and live in nice neighborhoods within driving distance of the places you know and love.

And if your current home is too big for you, you can save even more by moving and buy an even less expensive home.
Typically, smaller homes use significantly less energy and require less effort on your part to clean and repair.
Our needs don't decrease when we retire, and some of them increase dramatically, and I'm not just talking about rising health care expenses - the free time we have in retirement means we can go on cruises, travel more, play more golf. And so on.
Our monthly pension and the salary we received when we were working are very different.
That said, we don't want to give up our habit of buying food at Trader Joe's and tickets to a concert of our favorite band. And even though we don't go to work every day, the cost of car insurance and gas somehow doesn't go down much.
Is it possible to stay in California, close to your favorite friends and places, and buy a house for much less? I think so, and I can help you.
