Welcome to Day 3 of Saving Sprint.
⭐️
Today’s the day for some serious talk.

Now that you’ve learned to take your spending under control, I’ve got a few things for you to consider.

1. Income

Can you honestly look in the mirror and say that you’ve maximized your earning potential?
Because i am 99% that you’ve not. And i get it, you’re either tired, or clueless, perhaps you dream about “one day” when you will have made it, or everything around you is the reason why you are not where you wanted to be by now.
How do I know?
I’ve been there.
Once upon a time i was earning $300 per month with a Bachelor’s degree.
Once upon a time I thought I reached a ceiling in my paycheck.
Once upon a time I had all the reasons to why I wasn’t where I wanted to be.

But I know it can be changed. And I know how, as I’ve done it. And I can tell you - it’s not a magic pill.

Let’s face it, we are talking about saving, but are you really trying to save a million dollars from a $40K a year salary? I am not saying it’s impossible, but it’ll take you quite some time.
I hear people talk about saving a few bucks on taxes when they really are at the lowest tax bracket.

My friend, wake up and smell the reality - your problem ain’t tax, your income is too low.

2. Risk

Let’s grow up and start taking smart risks. There’s a book on every possible flavor of investing - stock market, real estate, crypto, commodities - you name it. How many have you read? I’m going to guess - there’s one book and you made it 1 page past the cover. Yet you’re eager to jump into the flashy promises to turn your dollar into 10K within a week.
Here’s my advice - take calculated risks. If you can’t calculate your possible loss - don’t take it.

3. Plan

Take responsibility for your planning. Do whatever you can to not live paycheck by paycheck. Keep 3-6 months of your expenses worth in your bank account, use smart investment tools for the rest.

In conclusion, taking your finances to the next level might seem like a daunting task, but it is also fun once you get serious.
Just like you felt sad going on a diet and headed to the gym, but got excited and energized once your 6-packs started showing.

So go ahead ⭐

Welcome to day 1 of Saving Sprint.
The Secret #1: Find your WHY.
Strong enough reason for saving gives you the determination. The right ‘why’ is tied to your emotions, so search hard.
Will $10000 saved give you the start to getting your second store opened, and that will earn you the respect of your family who didn’t think you were going to make it?

See how the first part of it is rational, and the second part is emotional?

So go ahed now and find your own ‘WHY’. And I will see you tomorrow to pull back the curtain on the second secret.

Ep.8 Money Alive!

Long time ago when I was a broke student, I found $20. Back then it was like finding a fortune after a prayer, and I took it and spent it.
But in my young brain there was a thought: There’s never something for nothing, what will it cost me and when will I face a payback?
Here’s how it happened.
For the first year in California I didn’t drive, and luckily public transportation got us by pretty good. One morning after paying off another debt installment, i scraped up $62 and bought a bus pass for the month. This was one of the biggest purchases, and I remember thinking how nothing has really changed - I was buying a bus pass in Minsk, and so I did the same in California.
I went on to buy milk and as I was paying for it - I realized the bus pass was gone, I must have dropped it at the counter. I went back to retrace my step through the le and it was nowhere to be found. I was crushed, it was very expensive for me then.
And the $20 flashed back before my eyes - the payback was done.
Did you ever feel like Money is Alive?

Ep.6 “It’s not what you got, it’s what you make of it.” “I don’t think you know this, but our previous accountant was drug addict so she just disappeared 3 months ago”. And just like that my fist work day in US started.
A very kind hearted office manager, Bob, was unloading piles of papers, invoices, contracts, bills on my new desk, reciting the list of things they were behind on, slowly walking me through the disaster i got myself into.
“And tomorrow we have to process payroll, don’t forget” - he said smilingly.
I could barely understand 50% of what he was talking about because my english wasn’t really there yet.
I sorted the papers until it was quiet in the office, everyone left at 6pm. I thought to myself: “I don’t know what i am doing”, but i kept on sorting the damn pile. “Good work today! Now go home, and don’t worry, your pile will still be here tomorrow!” Bob showed me how to clock out for the day, and off I went shlopping my way to the train station.
