Shana Nelson - State Farm Insurance Agent

Shana Nelson - State Farm Insurance Agent We are here to help. It’s hard to believe I have been a State Farm Insurance Agent since 1999! I have worked with State Farm since 1998. So, why wait?

We welcome you to explore our growing and experienced team in our boutique Full-service insurance agency in CALIFORNIA, ARIZONA, NEVADA and OREGON since 1999, and prior claims experience with State Farm since 1998. My passion for serving my customers and my community is the same as it was when I first opened my doors. My dad is also a State Farm Agent, so I grew up believing in this company’s va

lues and it’s an honor to live with them every day. I spent my first few years in claims in New Mexico, started my agency in Nevada, and finally put down roots here in Silicon Valley. I’m dedicated to building strong relationships with this community and helping every customer with a plan that fits their life. My friendly, experienced team and I will always take the time to sit down with you and make sure you understand exactly what you need. That’s the kind of good neighbor mentality my dad taught me, and one I have passed on to everyone who works here. I bring that same mentality to supporting my community. I’m active with the Mountain View and Cupertino Chambers of Commerce and serve on the board for the Fire Safe Council for Santa Clara County. I also love supporting our local schools and many local organizations, including Cops and Gobblers—a police league that supports local families in need over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Community involvement is a huge part of who I am—both personally and professionally. I’m a graduate of Leadership Mountain View and an active member of the Mountain View, Saratoga, and Cupertino Chambers of Commerce. For nine years, I served on the Downtown Advisory Board for Downtown Mountain View and continue to serve on the board and as an advisor for the Santa Clara County Fire Safe Council, helping communities across the county achieve their Firewise designations. I’m also a longtime volunteer and coach with Los Gatos Little League and actively support LGUSD and Los Gatos High School through volunteering and contributions to music, theater, tennis, and events like the Color Run and Project Cornerstone. I enjoy giving back through programs like RESA, the brush chipping program, and as a proud member of ProVisors (MTV1). At our agency, we're not your average insurance provider. We're your personal pit crew, dedicated to keeping you safe on the road and putting more money back in your pocket. That’s a wrap!

Six extremely large bins of e-waste in one morning tells you something:

People want to do the right thing. They just need it to be easy.

This weekend’s community e-waste and shredding event is officially a wrap, and I’m proud of what our mountain neighbors in Los Gatos made happen.

Here’s what worked:

Make it simple: One Saturday morning. Clear instructions. Easy drop-off.
Make it local: This was built by residents, for residents.
Make it supported: Huge thanks to Brown Hauling bringing his truck, co-sponsoring, and hauling the e-waste to the site.
Make it secure: Thank you to Shred-Works for bringing their trucks out after we hired them for the event.
Make it a true partnership:

Shout out to Lisa Sgarlato (Compass), my fellow co-sponsor.

For clarity, I was happy to coordinate the event and served as one of the three co-sponsors: Shana Nelson Insurance Agency, Inc., agent for State Farm.

If you dropped off items: thank you. You helped keep our community clutter-free before summer.

Want to see this become a quarterly event? Comment “YES” and I’ll share what we’d need to repeat it.

Quick question: what’s the most overlooked “small fix” that makes a school or park instantly better?

For us right now, it’s nets. They’re simple, but they’re the difference between a usable space and a frustrating one.

We have more nets that you will see posted soon that are going to be donated to additional local schools and parks. Looking forward to sharing more nets.

What should we prioritize next:

Nets
Balls and basic gear
Benches and shade
Something else
