I've stayed pretty silent on the subject of Game stock because I don't feel like I understand enough to give investment advice. However, I do know that I wouldn't invest in a stock that I didn't thoroughly research for weeks independently. Just sayin'!

tbh it's just nice to see how this college student used his newfound fortune. Especially during the pandemic and restricted hospital visits. I bet the kids at the hospital loved getting this gift.

ICYMI: Have you heard the news about FinTech start-up Goalsetter? Goalsetter has raised $3.9 million additional participation from NBA superstars Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets, Phoenix Suns guard Chris Paul, and others.

It’s exciting to see that financial literacy is becoming a priority. Financial literacy is an important puzzle piece to closing the wealth gap. So many of us didn't learn about finances until later in life (🙋🏽‍♀️) and fell victim to financial mistakes that haunt us until eternity(hello student debt! 🎓). So, I’m glad to see NBA stars and financial institutions making the investment to educate our youth. I’m curious though if this is a resource that parents will encourage their kids to use?

🤯This. Is. crazy! The overall unemployment rate was 6.7% in December. But women of color accounted for 100% of the jobs lost. Black and Latina women are disproportionately affected by layoffs.

Just a few stats to highlight the disparity:

-The unemployment rate for black women is 8.4%, Last month 154,000 Black women lost their job.
-The unemployment rate for Latina women is 9.1%
-White males unemployed is 5.8%
-White women unemployed is 5.7%

In my most recent post about financial resolutions, I shared how I lost my job at the end of last year. When I first got the news I was scared, but once I sat down and looked at my finances and what I saved throughout the year, I was more at ease.

I’d been saving all year for this! While I did not expect to lose my job, the beginning of 2020 I made my finances a priority and started to plan for the worse. Plus, I really wanted a “F@ you Fund” so that I would never be financially tied to another job ever again. Either way, I know many of us are feeling it. So I want to tell you don't freak out. You're not alone. You got this!

While the house is working towards impeaching the President of the United States for a second time. I thought I'd share some more good news that's on the horizon. The rumor is that Biden is crafting a plan to eliminate student loan debt for millions of borrowers.

is reporting:
- Biden’s plan would eliminate $10,000 in student loans and come as part of a
- The funds are part of the $900 billion pandemic relief package
- Paused payments would be extended. Last year payments on student loans were paused under the CARE ACT, without the proposed pandemic relief package, payments would restart at the end of the month.

In my post A conversation about Wealth Inequality in America, I shared that “Americans owe $1.5 trillion in student loan debt. And 42% of African Americans have student loan debt.’ Eliminating student loan debt. Eliminating student loan debt would help people of color would help bridge the wealth gap

Over the weekend a legendary civil rights leader, Congressman John Lewis lost his fight to cancer at the age of 80.
When I say legend, I mean as a young man he marched with Dr. King and got into “Good trouble” He dedicated his entire career to fighting for freedom equality and basic human rights.
-In his early 20’s he fought against segregation participating in freedom rides and was Chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC).
-In a fight for voter rights, he was beaten in a peaceful protest attempting to cross from Selma to Montgomery. The confrontation later became known as "Bloody Sunday."
-He served in Congress for over three decades.
-He was awarded the Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama

He accomplished more than I can cover in a social post. So, I encourage you to look him up.
Although he is gone, he will never be forgotten. Stay motivated. The fight for equality is not over. Rest in Power
