Ray Ozzie is an American entrepreneur who held the positions of Chief Technical Officer and Chief Software Architect at Microsoft. Here’s what you should know!

- He was a key player in the development of Microsoft Azure!
- He started his first startup in 2012, called Talko Inc. a company that delivered mobile apps and services for business team communications primarily focused on those roles in which voice is essential. He later sold the company to Microsoft in 2015.
- He is now leading Blues Wireless (Blues), founded in 2019. Blues is a hyperscale cellular IoT solution provider. Blues reduces the cost and complexity of building connected products by including provisioning, security, and cloud device management as standard features, with the simplicity and flexibility enabling it to be incorporated within new and existing designs. He’s already raised $32M in their Series A round.

Ray Ozzie is an innovator. His new venture is a great product in a great industry. As the world increasingly relies more on information, we remain optimistic about the future of Blues.

- Raised $25 million in a series A round, led by Sequoia Capital.
- Founded by Harrison Chase, machine learning engineer and graduate from Harvard, and Ankush Gola, graduate from Princeton University.
- LangChain already connects to about 700 such programs so far
With the high growth of the AI industry, we believe that Langchain is in a great position to “sell shovels” in a the gold rush that is AI. We look forward to what they offer in the future.

- Founded by Sergiy Nesterenko, who previously worked for SpaceX
- Raised $10 million for AI-powered circuit board design, led by Benchmark

Sergiy argues that while software is 90% of a product, it is not 90% of the work. He says that "That remaining 10% of the work that is left is really, really difficult." We for one look forward to having circuit board designs be simpler to make and look forward to see Quilter reach its goals in the future.

Big news for cloud computing!

Microsoft has announced plans to quadruple its spending on cloud computing and AI infrastructure in Spain, part of a wave of investments the tech giant has been making across Europe in recent months. The company is planning to spend $2.1bn on AI and cloud infrastructure. This news comes after Microsoft unveiled plans to invest $3bn+ in Germany alone.

With Cloud computing becoming even more important with the rise in AI software, it’s no surprise that tech giants are spending so much money on building their infrastructure.

It was founded by Devin Bhushan from the University of Illinois in October 2021.

It manages workflows for Volvo, Siemens, Colgate-Palmolive, Michelin and Berkshire Hathaway Energy.

Squint raised a $13-million Series A last year led by Sequoia with participation from Menlo Ventures.

The timing for Squint could not be better given the high amount of turnover in the industry.
