Relationships are everything. As we always say, we're not in the real estate business, we're in the people business. 💗

This week, we got the opportunity to deepen and build on our relationship with one of our key partners, GHC (General Hotels Corporation).

Earlier this week, we flew to Indianapolis to meet with the leadership team at GHC, to review the performance and budgets for the 7 hotels in our portfolio.

And while it was important to have a chance to dive into the numbers and data, what was even more important and meaningful was the opportunity to understand the philosophy behind the decisions that are made at the hotels day-to-day, to see firsthand the unparalleled commitment to excellence across the team, and to realize the clear alignment of values between our teams. 🫶🏻🌟

Investing in real estate is a great way to build wealth, but it's not just about the numbers and returns and taxes. It's about the people and the care and the impact.

And as we toured 3 of the hotels that we own in partnership with GHC and our investors, it was clear that impact is created every day for the guests across all the hotels in our portfolio. 🔑

These hotels are more than just a place to stay for a night. Because each of the team members serving our guests truly cares, our guests feel truly supported and get to experience unexpected moments of connection and delight.

And that experience is what stays with them, long after they check out, and what keeps them coming back again and again, which in turn leads to stronger numbers and higher returns for investors. It's a win-win! 🤩🚀

Over the years, there's been a LOT of change in our business and in our lives. But one thing that's remained constant is . ☕🫶

From the early days in the business, when it was just the two of us with a hope and a dream of helping people build wealth through real estate, Capital One Cafe in downtown San Francisco at the corner of Post and Kearny became our haven. Our place to meet up, brainstorm, and dream. 🚀

It was on the lower floor conference room white board where we first created the concept of Jen, our fictional investor avatar, who's been the lens through which we've built so much of our business. 🌟

It was at these tables where we met and hashed out our ideas, worked through challenges, and came up with new and better ways to serve our investors.

Today, we met up again, with a fresh set of challenges and opportunities. We laughed, we shared stories, and we dreamed.

Sometimes, being an entrepreneur and building a business feels like you're on top of the world. Other times, it feels like you're trudging through sand. It's hard work, and then the wind blows and everything shifts. 😫

But in the midst of that continual change, we are forever grateful for this haven, where we know there will always be a table waiting for us, a spot ready to hold out thoughts and ideas, and a place we can come to connect, to commiserate, and to dream. 💗

The Goodegg Team just got back from the Best Ever Conference in Salt Lake City, where we seized the chance to connect with partners and gain insights from fellow players in the real estate space.

With so much disruption in the space right now, we felt it would be a great time to understand what others are facing to see if we can uncover where opportunities may exist.

Reflecting on the event, memories flooded back to when we (Julie and Annie) first crossed paths over six years ago at the same conference. Sitting side by side on a couch, our shared mission was crystal clear: to help as many people as possible learn about and invest in real estate to create passive income and generate wealth.

Now embarking on our seventh year in business, education remains at the forefront of our mission. However, amidst what feels like an economic winter, our journey to realizing this mission in its entirety faces unforeseen challenges. The continued pursuit of the elusive passive income leaves many questioning its existence, a sentiment echoed by members of our community.

While engaging with attendees throughout the conference, a common thread emerged—everyone is grappling with some form of adversity in today's market. From bridge debt expirations to declining occupancy, the hurdles are numerous. As our mentor Tony Robbins aptly cautioned, winter has descended upon us, though the extent of its severity is still unknown.

Despite the storm clouds looming, we press onward because investing operates in cycles, and predicting market timing is a futile endeavor. Just as winter prevails, spring will inevitably follow, rewarding investments made today with future dividends.

Undoubtedly, these are trying times for many in the industry, both for passive investors and operators alike. Yet, amidst the turbulence, our commitment remains steadfast. Here at Goodegg, we stand resolute in our pledge to support each of you through thick and thin. Together, we will navigate these rough waters. We are determined not to lose sight of our collective goals of building wealth through real estate investing.
