The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) has announced an update to the 203(k) Rehabilitation Mortgage Insurance Program that helps make buying and renovating homes more affordable. The two primary enhancements going into effect starting 11/04/2024 include:
* Increasing the Limited 203(k) loan limit to $75,000 (from $35,000).
* Extending the rehabilitation period to 12 months for Standard 203(k) loans and 9 months for Limited 203(k) loans.
