This year I decided to step things up with my involvement in two charities that I love.

So, each time I buy a house I'm donating $1000 towards them. Friday we closed on a new project so today I sent $500 to Stoked Mentoring and $500 to Urban Surf 4 Kids.

These two organizations are focused on utilizing board sports to close the opportunity gap. Both have their own special ways of achieving this which I want to encourage you to explore and learn about.

This isn't just about making a financial contribution. I've been a surf and snow mentor with Stoked and a surf mentor and Hanai group mentor with Urban Surf for several years.

Both have allowed me to spend time each month connecting, playing and helping create positive experiences with kids and teens who might not have these opportunities otherwise.

I was a little hesitant to share this post but I wanted to bring more awareness to these two organizations. I am so passionate about youth mentorship and decided to share the stoke about my way of making a difference.

For my San Diego friends, we're always looking for in water volunteers at Urban Surf 4 Kids this summer if you'd like to come play.

Stoked Mentoring operates our of LA and NYC should you be interested to explore their volunteer opportunities. Yew!
