A reintroduction post for any new folks 'round here!

I'm Cally! Here’s the truth: growing up, I got zero financial education. My parents didn’t teach me much, and school? More about dissecting frogs than doing taxes (so useful, right? 🙃).

After college, I spent three years in Spain, Mexico, and Colombia—studying, teaching, and interning with Shakira’s Barefoot Foundation in Bogotá (we’re basically BFFs). That’s when it hit me: if I, a native English speaker, struggled with the U.S. financial system, how do immigrants manage? It made me realize how overwhelming finances can be.

That’s why I’m passionate about offering accessible, compassionate financial advice for everyone—no matter where you’re from or where you’re going.

I'm the financial coach and founder (well, literal sole employee) at Chillax Finance.

Started back in 2018 as a money nerd, who was feeling out of place in the financial services industry.... as a young q***r bilingual woman wanting to make personal finance more friendly.

Now with clients across the US 🇺🇸 (and one in Canada 🇨🇦 you know who you are 😉) I'm thrilled to see people begin to save regularly, knock out their debts all while having fun with their money!

Hola hola, I'm Cally, the owner of Chillax Finance. And it’s been a while since I re-introduced myself on here!

I recently hit a 1,000 day long Duolingo streak in French! Bravo pour moi 😅

It's been 7 years since I launched Chillax Finance. At first, my business was just me and my clients meeting in coffee shops. Together, we were diving into their budgets, brainstorming strategies, and taking the first steps to revamp their finances one latte at a time.

Fast forward and now I’m in sunny San Diego, California (unceded Kumeyaay territory). But don’t stress if you’re not in SoCal—I serve clients as Shakira would prefer—whenever, wherever. The beauty of the internet is that we can connect in 6,207 ways—including, maybe someday, with carrier pigeons (just kidding, but I’m open to ideas 😉).
