In '99 Erik Jones set out from SoCal to drive the length of the peninsula to La Paz to dive the famous WW2-era wreck of the "Salvatierre", which he called "surreal", "beautiful", and "psychedelic" with "hundreds of macker cabrilla schooling under the stern". The trip took them from one side of the peninsula to the other, surfing, fishing, and "green ports" less travelled.
