🚀 High Property Tax: Curse or Blessing? Let’s break it down! 🤔

💵 In Texas, residents often gripe about sky-high taxes 🚀—extra costs that hurt their budget 🎯.

🏡 For investment properties, though, those costs can be shifted to tenants via rent hikes.

🌴 In California, property taxes are relatively low—thanks to a 70s law!
Imagine buying a home in 1980 for $100K and still paying tax as if it’s worth $400K, even if it’s now valued at $1M.
This tax advantage means many hold onto their homes, passing them to the next generation, and causing inventory shortages. 😮

🏫 Remember, property taxes fund local schools, fire departments, and police.
Even in wealthy states, schools sometimes struggle—parents end up donating supplies and even driving their kids within 5 miles due to a shortage of buses! 🚌

👮‍♂️ On the flip side, higher taxes boost public safety by funding more police cars 🚓, fuel ⛽, and additional officers, keeping crime rates down and property values stable.

𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿. 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝗯𝗼𝗻. 𝗔 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗳é.

I was sipping coffee ☕ when I noticed a sign—
"Best Bifana in the World."

I took a seat at a long table.
The guy across from me asked—

“Hey, are you from San Diego?”

I was surprised. “How do you know?”

He laughed. “Your hat says SD.”
I hadn’t even noticed.
SD—San Diego.
SD—Sanjoy Dey.

Our conversation started.

He owned hundreds of acres of farmland in Saskatchewan, Canada.
A wealthy farmer. 50 years in the business.

I asked—“What’s your best advice for success?”

He took a bite of cake. 🍰
Then said—

"Have you ever watched how farmers sow seeds?"

"Not every seed becomes a plant. Not every plant survives. But we keep sowing."

He stirred sugar into his coffee. ☕
"Business is the same. Some things will succeed. Some will fail. But don’t stop planting.”

I nodded. Lesson learned.

You can do a lot of renovations and improvements to your own property, but you can’t change the overall crime demographics of your neighborhood.

These days people sometimes don’t mind to pay a little bit extra staying in a safer place.

People come to Bangkok for different reasons.

Some come here to just hop to southern island or beach towns. Some come to get exotic street food, some to get legal cannabis, some to get relaxing foot massage.

But interestingly some westerners these days come to Bangkok to get their cheap tailored made custom suits.

A decent quality suit costs here around $160. And they also ship them worldwide.
