🛬 Twenty-three years ago, on the eve of a day that would mark history, 246 souls boarded their flights, unaware of the morning that awaited them. Another 2,606 settled into their nightly routines, prepping for another day at work under clear September skies. In the quiet of the night, 343 firefighters laid their heads down, expecting to rise for their shifts in the morning, while 60 police officers and 8 paramedics did the same, ready to safeguard and save lives as dawn broke.

🛬 None of them would see beyond the morning of September 11, 2001.
