Encouraging signs for the transportation and logistics sector as we head toward 2027.

Truist’s latest industry update highlights improving freight fundamentals, tighter capacity and strengthening manufacturing activity — while also reinforcing that the operating environment remains complex.

What stands out to me is the opportunity this creates for well-positioned companies to think beyond the next quarter. For management teams with strong operations and a clear strategy, this may be a time to evaluate investments in equipment, technology, network expansion and even acquisition opportunities.

As a commercial banker, these are the conversations I enjoy most — understanding where a business is headed and helping leadership teams think strategically about the capital needed to get there.

Great insights from our Truist Transportation & Logistics Industry Specialty Team. Worth a read.

Great discussion today at the San Antonio Manufacturing Association (SAMA) March Membership Luncheon hosted with Truist. The theme, “Celebrating the Women Who Shape Manufacturing,” highlighted the growing impact women are making across the manufacturing industry—from leadership and strategy to engineering and operations.

A special thank you to an outstanding panel: Cimber Mabe (HEB) who moderated, along with Sharon Durham, President of Jon Hart Design, Lisa Navarro-Gonzales – Vice President of Forma and Tracy Fletcher, President of Lone Star Bakery. Their perspectives on leadership, workforce development, and the future of manufacturing were insightful and inspiring.

Events like this reinforce the importance of supporting and empowering the next generation of leaders in manufacturing. Grateful for the opportunity to connect with such a strong community of innovators and industry professionals in San Antonio.

Manufacturing doesn’t just run on machines—it runs on people, leadership, and purpose. I’m honored to be featured in San Antonio Woman’s January Magazine with Keegan Villa to shine a light on women driving meaningful change in manufacturing.

At Truist, we bring a specialized focus to manufacturing because thoughtful banking, industry insight, and genuine care creates better outcomes. This feature is a reminder that representation matters—and so does having a financial partner who truly understands your industry.

Today I had the opportunity to join the 2025 San Antonio Manufacturing Annual Bus Tour. The annual SAMA bus tour offers members a unique opportunity to visit manufacturing plants and witness firsthand how operations are carried out while also highlighting the critical role manufacturing plays in our community.

Even though I was only able to participate for the morning portion, the experience was outstanding and a great reminder of the strength and innovation within our local manufacturing community.

Our first stop was BE&SCO Manufactoring (Bakery Equipment & Service Co), a global leader in commercial flatbread machines, serving over 60 countries. They are known for its handcrafted high-quality equipment built by skilled craftsman.

We then toured Kiolbassa Smoked Meats. Touring their facility highlighted a culture of pride, quality, and care for both product and people. The plant was exceptionally clean, and it was clear that their team takes great pride in producing a product rooted in tradition and high standards.

Both companies showcased the best of San Antonio—innovation, skilled manufacturing talent, and strong commitment to community.

Proud to support and celebrate the manufacturers that drive our region forward.
