On October 2nd, the Pontem Financial team spent the day volunteering with Soldiers Angels Hunger Relief Programs. This nonprofit provides food assistance to low-income veteran families, service members, National Guard members, and reservists.

We are grateful for the chance to support such an incredible organization and the people it serves. Thank you to Soldiers Angels for the work you do every day.

Today we celebrate Russell Jones, our Director of Client Services, on his two-year anniversary with the firm! His relentless effort in assembling the Pontem Team and overseeing the construction of our third floor is greatly appreciated by the entire team.

We’ll have a booth at Bulverde Pumpkin Patch on Saturday, October 10, from 11-4. Stop by for candy and c***r as you pick up some pumpkins.

Fall has officially arrived at our house! 🎃

My girls helped kick off the season this week. One of them was thrilled about it. The other is still deciding how she feels about sitting in a pumpkin. 😂

Fall in Texas might still mean flip-flops and water shoes, but we're all in on the season anyway: pumpkins, cooler mornings (eventually), and time together as a family.

Today is Dolly Parton 9/5 day (9/25).

Dolly Parton’s legacy reaches far beyond music.

Over the years, she gave millions to causes ranging from disaster relief and medical research to education and children’s literacy. Her Imagination Library alone has distributed more than 330 million books to children across five countries.

After devastating Tennessee wildfires in 2016, her My People Fund provided displaced families with $1,000 a month for six months, no strings attached. She also donated $1 million toward COVID-19 vaccine research and supported schools, scholarships, pediatric care, and communities close to home.

What tied so much of that work together was remarkably simple: trust people, see a need, and respond.

Her example is a meaningful reminder that generosity doesn’t have to follow one formula. It starts with deciding what matters to you and finding a way to make an impact.
