Big Give 2024: A Call to Action for Our Local Businesses

We are thrilled to announce the Big Give 2024, a 24-hour fundraising rally from 6 p.m. on September 18th to 6 p.m. on September 19th. This year, we are reaching out to our incredible local businesses to join us in supporting our community shelter. Our shelter is run almost entirely by dedicated volunteers, with the only paid positions being our cat and dog caretakers. Every other aspect of our operations depends on the selfless efforts of volunteers who work tirelessly to provide a safe haven for animals in need.

We are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of local heroes like State Farm Insurance Agent Chris Gann. Chris has been a pillar of support for our shelter, donating monthly to ensure we have the necessary supplies and resources. His generosity means that we can allocate funds to other critical areas, like animal surgeries and shelter maintenance, instead of using them on supplies he donates. Chris’s commitment has made a profound impact on our ability to continue our mission, and we are so thankful for his continuous support.

This year, we hope to inspire more local businesses to follow Chris’s lead by becoming monthly donors. The funds raised during the Big Give 2024 will help cover essential costs, including shelter upkeep and medical care for our animals. Today is mine and my wife’s four year wedding anniversary! Today is also the three year anniversary of Chris Gann State Farm! I look forward to many more years serving the San Antonio area. And happy anniversary to my gorgeous wife and mother of my two beautiful daughters.

FOUND!

Driving to work today, I found this brother and sister duo on Mountain Lodge in Stone Oak. They have collars but no tags. I took them to a local vet, but they are not microchipped. They’re currently at my office.
