A customer says your work caused the damage.
Your first reaction might be to apologize, admit fault, or promise you’ll pay to fix everything.
Don’t jump to conclusions.
The cause of a loss isn’t always as obvious as it initially appears.
It could involve faulty workmanship. It could be a product failure, improper maintenance, another contractor’s work, or multiple contributing factors.
That’s why documentation, contracts, photos, and a proper claim investigation matter.
A claim starts a process. It doesn’t automatically determine who’s responsible — or what insurance will cover.
Know your coverage BEFORE you’re standing in a damaged building trying to figure it out.
