Some suggestions for every senior:
If you don’t have them already install grab bars in your bathroom and toilet area. If you never need them you will be lucky but if you do you will be so glad you did it.
Get rid of throw rugs even in bathroom area. Use a towel to step out onto when exiting the bathtub or shower then use it to wipe up any water. Then move the rug to somewhere it can dry.
If doing any remodeling make your primary bedroom doorway and doorway into bathroom wide enough that a wheelchair can get through.
Remove any steps, stone pathways and anything else that could be a tripping hazard on the approach to your house.
Fix potholes or uneven surfaces in your yard.
Clean up spills quickly.
Don’t use doggie gates but if you do don’t climb over to save time.
Keep small dogs from getting underfoot.
Avoid falls, bones are easily broken, painful, and the recovery process is painful.
