Want ideas on how to generate passive income?

𝟭. 𝗘 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀

Like eBooks, creating audiobooks is a great way to turn your technical skills into a healthy income stream.

When recording your audiobooks, make sure that you not only write your script but include things like emphasizing certain words and adding in natural pauses to make your message clearer.

Make sure that you use a microphone with reasonably high quality or your audiobook will sound unprofessional and won’t be as successful. Buying a quality microphone is a good upfront investment as you can use it for creating your online courses and other video content.

𝟮. 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘀

A great way to make use of your technical skills is to teach others by creating an online course.

You can teach an online course about almost anything: Photoshop, game development, playing an instrument, investing in stocks, learning a language, etc. The possibilities are endless. If you have a blog, you should make the course relevant to what you write your posts about. If you don’t have a blog currently, use platforms such as YouTube to post your courses. Once you gain enough viewers, then you can start monetizing your videos to make ad revenue.

𝟯. 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴

Once your audience grows larger, you can dabble in the affiliate marketing realm. Affiliate marketing is an arrangement where online retailers pay a commission to you if they make a sale from a referral on your site. Some businesses also offer a flat fee instead of paying a commission on sales.

Make referral links that apply to the topics you discuss in your blog posts. For example, a blog post about investing in stocks may have a referral link to their favorite book about the stock market.

𝟰. 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹

A sales funnel is a little trick used by many internet marketers. This is the buying process that businesses lead companies through when buying products.

There are many strategies for doing this, but most of them follow a general outline. First, you make the customer aware of your product. They then show interest by examining other companies and options. Next, they evaluate their options and make their ultimate choice (hopefully it’s you). Finally, the customer purchases your product.

Sounds simple, right? Not at all. Creating an effective sales funnel takes an enormous time commitment upfront. But as with most of these passive income strategies, the payoff is well worth it.

Change Mindset (Step 2)

𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗳𝘀.

Limiting beliefs are the thoughts and perspectives that we have about ourselves that prevent us from achieving our goals. These limiting beliefs can come from either a self-made or an externally-made belief.

“If I don’t let go of my past, then I won’t be able to move forward.”
“If people don’t like me, they will just treat me badly.”
“I’ll never be able to afford that.”
“She’s too good for me so why bother?”

These are all examples of limiting beliefs. Once you identify these limiting beliefs, then you can start working towards changing your mindset by proving to yourself that they aren’t true.

Client prospecting (the phrase sends shivers down my spine) was a stressful concept when I left my career. I found success once I adjusted my mindset. I soon realized I’m not “asking” or “begging” someone to hire me for a project or consulting sessions. I’m trying to connect with businesses and professionals whom I can help. Once I realized my skill set of executive producing both high-quality digital video and podcast content for top-tier brands is unique, I no longer felt I’m “selling.” I realize now it is a mutual match. My on-camera and video coaching works the same way—these professionals want to grow and I’m equally invested in their success.

𝟯. 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵

If you’re fumbling while explaining what you do when you meet someone, you need to practice your pitch. I stick to an ABC method. The A is for accolades: make sure to briefly state any accomplishments you have. B is for business: explain clearly and succinctly what you do and who you help. C is for confidence: you absolutely need to be (or at least sound) self-assured. Don’t see it as bragging. Remember, you’re just introducing yourself and making it clear how you can help someone with their business. Your accomplishments are a part of you.

Beyond the interpersonal skills that you need to have for a successful stint with passive income, you must also have specific skills according to the chosen domain. For instance, you must have creative writing skills if you want to pursue blogging as an additional revenue stream. Those who want to invest in bank bonds or real estate for extra income should have sound knowledge of financial and real estate domains respectively.

𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵-𝘀𝗮𝘃𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀

A majority of passive income streams are associated with the internet. So you should be tech-savvy enough to be able to leverage them. After all, you cannot expect someone with minimal technical skills to pursue a side hustle such as content writing, online tutoring or online stock trading. The best part about this skill is that you need not be born with it but can learn it through proper education and training.

Perhaps the most valuable trait that gets you closer to a hefty passive income is motivation. Often, people tend to get discouraged and stop trying because they do not get results too quickly. Motivation is the key as it keeps you working towards reaching your goals. Don’t think about quitting because success may be just around the corner when you give up on your passive income idea.

Passive income is some smartness and a lot of skills. If you have all these skills, you can surely make good money by landing on an intelligent passive income idea. Just think disruptive and be ready to stick to the idea until you start getting tangible results in the form of hard cash!

Change Your Mindset (Step 1)

Step 1: Be comfortable and accept that it’s time to change your mindset.

The first step is a basic but SO important part of changing your mindset. For starters, you should prepare yourself mentally to be able to follow the rest of these steps and change your mindset.

If you don’t feel like it’s necessary for you to change your mindset, then you will never be successful in following the other steps which lead to changing your mindset. It’s not impossible but it’s much harder if you’re not feeling up for it. You need a reason to succeed and that is why accepting that something needs to change is critical for your success.

Mediocrity is for losers. People who choose mediocrity are people who allow themselves to be controlled by what they fear and what they think others will think of them (read: feelings) instead of finding their own way. If a person wants to achieve anything, he must first achieve the mental strength to change his mind and the only way you can do that is by accepting that you need to change your mindset.

Passive income is income that provides a cash flow on a regular basis and requires very minimal to no maintenance by the recipient. This is the opposite of active income, which is income received from performing a service.

Most of these income streams will not be easy to start, but the beauty of passive income is that once you put in the initial work, you will continue to earn money while you sleep!

There are hundreds of ways to achieve this. When you consider the number of passive income potentials out there, you begin to realize how much money is just waiting out there to be made. Most experts recommend that new entrepreneurs create a business plan—but what is a business plan, exactly? And do you really need one?

Although writing a business plan isn’t a surefire path to success, studies show that people who create business plans tend to also become successful entrepreneurs, so it can’t hurt.

Our advice? Whether you write a formal business plan, construct a mental plan, or discuss a plan with a partner, make an effort to create a business plan.

What is a mindset?

The concept of mindset is generally defined as a way of thinking that determines your behaviour and outlook. For example, if you are determined to keep trying no matter what happens then this is an example of having a positive mindset. On the other hand, if you choose to give up at the first sign of failure then this is an example of having a negative mindset.

At times, you may feel like giving up but it’s important to continue pushing on and maintain your confidence because that is what will keep you going in the long run. The thing is, you have to change how you think in order to keep your motivation. There is no doubt that it’s easier said than done, but the good news is that it’s possible for you. You may not be an expert just yet but with the help of this blog post, you can get there bit by bit.

Nature has “built-in” mechanisms that help us adapt to our surroundings and their observations of nature state that we adapt over time – this means we can change our mindset over time with practice. So you’re probably wondering how long will it take to change your mindset. The simple answer is that it will happen over time. Keep going and eventually, you’ll get there.

Changing your mindset can sound difficult, but it’s not. The way you feel about something is all in your head and the key to changing your mindset is to rewire your brain. It’s not as difficult as it sounds; you just need to know what steps to take and when. Follow the posts in the next few days for a step-by-step guide on how you can change your mindset while still being happy with who you are now.

Studies show 92% of people say that they do not reach their goals which is why it’s important to change your mindset and follow the steps to rewire your brain. With the 8% being the minority in this case, let’s take a look at the 8% that do achieve their goals. The good news is that these people do not really share any common characteristics from an identity and background perspective.

What they do share is a sense of confidence, determination and a change of mindset. So clearly their is a correlation between your mindset and the ability to achieve your goals and one way to change your mindset is to follow the path of the 8%.

As mentioned earlier, setting a goal is only half of what you need to do in order to achieve it. The other half is having the right mindset and follow that with the determination and confidence. If you can do that, then setting a goal may be just as easy as going out for a run.
