What’s in a name? For us, everything. 📦✨

Our founder, Mary Domenico, spent two decades in production as a set tailor and talent agent before creating OOTB. She approached the business with a tailor’s mindset: knowing firsthand that in our industry, there is no such thing as "one-size-fits-all."

We've always had to think out of the box. The reality of creative production (rotating crews, 12-hour day rates, Coogan accounts, and complex agency usage, etc.) doesn't fit into a standard checkbox. So, we built a solution.

The turning point came in 2018 when California passed AB5 and labor laws shifted. As Mary puts it: “We needed a payroll solution for our creatives, and when we couldn’t find one that fit the unique realities of our industry, we built it ourselves.” What began as an in-house accounts payable solution quickly evolved into a comprehensive compliance and payroll partner that no one else could match.

Today, we’re as adaptable as the teams we support. Whether we're supporting a local production company or some of the largest corporations in the world, we believe a human-centered approach is the only way to ensure our clients’ success. We don’t just hand you a login - we provide real human support every step of the way.

Miranda Gulyash was one of the first people to join the OOTB team, and she was an absolute force. She believed deeply that *how* you support people matters just as much as *what* you do.

That belief shaped everything we do. Miranda held OOTB to the highest standard, pushing us to build processes that treat every client and freelancer as an individual human being who deserves the utmost attention, support, and kindness. She taught us that human support is never optional and makes all the difference.

We lost Miranda to cancer in 2023. As we approach the anniversary of her passing, we want to honor her positive impact on our lives and the values of our company. Her people-first legacy continues to inspire every part of OOTB's work. 💛
