Don’t take the bait! 🎣

Phishing is a common scam designed to trick you into sharing personal or financial information—and scammers are getting pretty good at looking like someone you trust.

📧 Phishing can show up in your email.
📱 “Smishing” uses text messages.
☎️ “Vishing” happens over the phone.
🌐 And all can lead you toward fake websites designed to steal your information.

The bait may look different, but the advice stays the same: be suspicious of unexpected requests, urgent messages, unfamiliar links, and anyone asking for passwords or verification codes.
Something seem a little phishy? 🐟 Stop and verify before you click, respond, or share.

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and there’s one scam you should know about: criminals posing as the FBI, FDIC, or other government officials to convince people their savings are in danger.

The scam can start with a phone call or fake pop-up and quickly escalate. The scammer may tell you to move your money somewhere “safe,” withdraw cash, buy gold or cryptocurrency, or even hand your money to a courier—all while telling you to keep it secret.

🚩 Remember: A real government agency will not ask you to hand over your money for “safekeeping.”

If you receive a suspicious request, hang up and verify it independently. Never use the phone number or contact information provided by the person contacting you.
