A new Medicare pilot program is expanding access to certain GLP-1 medications for eligible beneficiaries, with qualifying prescriptions available for a $50 copay.

Important update for anyone enrolled in health insurance through the federal Marketplace.

CMS announced that approximately 315,000 enrollments covering more than 760,000 people are being canceled after the agency identified them as unauthorized. CMS says it is also introducing additional safeguards for Marketplace applications, including stricter identity verification and requirements for Social Security numbers or immigration document numbers on agent- or broker-assisted applications.

If you currently have a HealthCare.gov plan, now is a good time to double-check your coverage:

1. If you haven’t used your health insurance this year, log in and confirm that your policy is still active.
2. If you or a family member did not include a Social Security number on your application, check your insurance carrier account or contact your broker to verify your coverage.
3. If you discover that your plan was unexpectedly canceled, contact Ark Insurance Solutions as soon as possible so we can help you understand your options and begin the appropriate appeal process.

Ark Insurance Solutions CEO Rebecca Yates recently spoke with FOX 13 about an upcoming Select Health policy change and what it could mean for Utahns seeking mental health care.

“The biggest disruption is going to be for people that are new patients,” Rebecca explained, noting that the change could make it more difficult for some patients to get established with a provider.

Rebecca also shared practical options patients may want to explore, including paying cash or using HSA or FSA funds when appropriate.

ICHRA has a new name: CHOICE Plans — Custom Health Option and Individual Care Expense.

For some Utah employers, a CHOICE Plan can offer a more flexible approach to employee health benefits. Employers set a monthly contribution, employees choose their own individual health insurance plan, and eligible expenses are reimbursed up to that amount.

CHOICE Plans may be worth exploring for Utah businesses with employees in multiple states, difficulty meeting group participation requirements, or a need for more predictable benefit costs. But they aren’t automatically the best choice—traditional group health insurance can still offer excellent value.
