This is an interesting study on hearing loss. Check it out.

Hearing loss is one of the most prevalent chronic conditions in the United States, affecting more than nine million Americans over the age of 65 and 10 million Americans age 45 to 64. 70% of seniors over 70 have hearing loss in at least one ear.

Adults with impaired hearing, who do not wear hearing aids, demonstrate significantly higher rates of depression, anxiety, and other psychosocial disorders. Additionally, the occurrence of dementia increases.
