Our office will be closed on Tuesday, February 3rd, as our area continues to ‘dig out’ from the snow over the weekend. We expect to be on normal hours on Wednesday.

The NC DOT has done a great job getting our main roads and hwys cleared (see pics, there was a foot of snow on these roads 18 hours ago!) However many of our sides streets are still dangerous. If you have to drive, be safe.

The weather forecasters are in a strong consensus now that our area is going to receive some ice, maybe snow and then more ice beginning Saturday afternoon and continuing thru Sunday. Extreme low temperatures are expecting by Monday. Please be safe if you have to drive. Power outages are likely. Please take precautions to protect your property. We had an enjoyable day with Nationwide leadership, catching up with some old Nationwide friends, meeting Panther’s retired legend Thomas Davis Jr and checking out Bank of America stadium from a different vantage point!

Our agent Alexis got to hang out with the Panther’s and Bryce Young last week ! She showed off her throwing and kicking skills ! Great work by our office and especially Beverly for representing Nationwide in our office.

Hurricane season started June 1st. NOAA predicts 13 - 19 named storms this summer, with 6-10 becoming hurricanes.

What should you do? Have a storm plan. Gather supplies and keep them on hand Review your homeowner’s insurance, make sure your coverage is sufficient. If you are not sure, talk to your agent. Consider flood insurance. Even if you are not in a flood zone, tropical storms and hurricanes often cause flash floods. Flood insurance has a 30 day wait period before it becomes effective, so act early if you want flood insurance.

Our office is experiencing phone and internet outages as a result of the storm. As the strongest portion of the storm passes out of our immediate area, we continue to be under tornado warnings. Hurricane Helene will make landfall (in Florida) later tonight and is expected to bring heavy rain and high winds to our area by very early Friday morning. The combination of high winds and rain will cause some trees to come down and likely lead to power outages in our area. Please be safe and prepare early.
