In August of 1892, the foundations of the Denver Post was born. Originally, the paper was called The Evening Post and was formed to promote Grover Cleveland for President. However, after Cleveland didn't support the federal government's purchase of silver — a vital industry in Colorado at the time — he became wildly unpopular in the state. The original paper was shuttered only a year later in 1893, but eventually was resurrected and became The Denver Post in 1901 and is still published today.

In the last 140 years, High Country Bank has seen a lot, and helped our customers navigate the changing times every step of the way!
