🦷👓 Let’s Talk About Two Benefits That Sometimes Get Overlooked… Dental & Vision!

When we’re shopping for health insurance, most of our attention goes toward doctors, prescriptions, deductibles, and monthly premiums.

But what about our teeth and eyes? 🤔

Here’s something I want you to know… Just because you have health insurance doesn’t necessarily mean you have adult dental and vision coverage!

And even if you do, it’s important to understand what your benefits actually include.

🦷 Dental Insurance: Depending on your plan, benefits may include routine cleanings, exams, X-rays, fillings, and other dental procedures.

👓 Vision Insurance: Depending on your plan, benefits may include routine eye exams, glasses, contact lenses, and discounts on certain eyewear.

💙 Here’s my tip: Don’t just look at the monthly premium! Check the annual benefit limits, waiting periods, provider networks, and what you’ll actually pay when you use your coverage.

With health insurance Open Enrollment right around the corner, now is a great time to review ALL your coverage needs, not just medical!

🧼💙 Happy Global Handwashing Day!

I know what you’re thinking… we have a day dedicated to washing our hands?! 😂

We sure do! And with cold and flu season getting underway, it’s actually a pretty good reminder!

Between work, school, running errands, and everything else we squeeze into our days, we’re constantly coming into contact with germs.

But here’s the good news… one of the simplest ways to help protect yourself and your family doesn’t cost a thing!

🧼 Wash your hands with soap and water.

⏰ Scrub for at least 20 seconds.

💙 Remember to wash before eating, after using the restroom, and after coughing or sneezing.

And for those of you with little ones… singing a favorite song while washing might make those 20 seconds a little more entertaining! 😂

💙 A Little Planning Can Save You a BIG Headache! 😊

We’ve all been there… someone in the family gets sick, it’s after regular doctor’s office hours, and suddenly you’re trying to figure out where to go.

Urgent Care or Emergency Room? 🤔

Knowing the difference BEFORE you need medical attention can save you time, frustration, and potentially money!

🏥 Urgent Care: Often a good option for things like minor injuries, ear infections, sore throats, and illnesses that need attention but aren’t emergencies.

🚑 Emergency Room: For serious or potentially life-threatening situations, such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, stroke symptoms, or severe injuries. Call 911 when immediate emergency help is needed.

Here’s the insurance part people sometimes overlook…

💙 Not every urgent care facility is necessarily in your insurance network.

💙 Your copay or out-of-pocket costs may be different depending on where you receive care.

💙 Some plans offer additional options, such as virtual visits, that may be convenient for certain nonemergency situations.

My suggestion? Take a few minutes TODAY to find out which urgent care facilities are in your network and save that information in your phone.

It’s one of those little things you’ll be glad you did when you need it!

And remember, never delay emergency care because you’re worried about insurance coverage.
