Saratoga County Farm Bureau

Saratoga County Farm Bureau To serve and strengthen agriculture. Farm Bureau is the voice of New York agriculture.

"Farm Bureau is a non-governmental, volunteer organization financed and controlled by member families for the purpose of solving economic and public policy issues challenging the agricultural industry. Farm Bureau‘s "grassroots" policy development process continues to ensure that the organization represents the majority position of its membership. Policy development begins at the county level with

problem identification and culminates at the New York Farm Bureau Annual Meeting with resolutions addressing the issues. Our success in implementing policies depends upon our active, well-informed membership guided by the efforts of many dedicated volunteer leaders. Farm Bureau will continue to meet the needs of those who make farming their livelihood and rural New York their home."

Saratoga County Farm Bureau was one of the many who showed up to represent NY Agriculture at the Taste NY Reception this past Monday night. In doing so, we were joined by students from the Schuylerville Ag. Education & FFA , they helped us slice, scoop out, and showcase two of the numerous outstanding Saratoga County Ag products: Stewart's Shops Ice Cream and Smith's Orchard Bake Shop Apple Pie (and they make a delicous paring).

At the Taste NY reception, that's exactly what you get to do: taste some of the great things NYS produces, and those who steward the land and its livelihood have to offer! Because our food and meals are one of the many places you find the beauty and get to enjoy in OUR states agriculture. When we share that harvest with others, sitting down at a table, counter, or booth. Whether it's a bowl of greens, a crisp apple, a glass of cold milk, a fried egg, a slab of beef, or a slice of local apple pie.

The Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act has passed into law with President Trump's signature today.

The act reverses a 2012 law allowing only skim and 1% milk to be served in schools. Now, kids can enjoy whole, 2%, 1% and skim flavored or plain milk. Thank you NYFB members for your unwavering support on this issue!
