🚨 Attention SkyTab (Shift4) Merchants

If your business uses a SkyTab terminal, you may want to take a closer look at your most recent processing statement.

A recent industry report shared the following:

"Shift4 just built the most expensive annual fee in payments, and most owners will not notice until September.

If you run a business on a SkyTab terminal, check the last page of your most recent processing statement. Somewhere in the attachments there may be a one-paragraph notice with a plain title like 'Important Billing Update.' That paragraph is a charge between $1,500 and $2,000, and it lands on your account this August.

Shift4, the company behind SkyTab, announced the fee in June. They call it the Annual Service and Maintenance Fee. It takes effect July 1 and gets billed every August. Merchant Cost Consulting, an independent firm that audits processing statements for a living, started seeing the notices arrive on client accounts in the first week of June and published the breakdown on June 9."
