As we close the book on 2024, I can confidently say itโs been a wild ride! I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt thank you to everyone who has trusted me with their mortgage journeyโwhether for themselves, their clients, or their friends. Your trust means the world to me!
This year, even with nearly 25 years in the industry, I found new opportunities to learn and grow. Here are a couple of lessons that stood out:
โจ Lesson 1: Navigating a tricky VA loan appraisal.
We encountered a $20k shortfall on an appraisal, and for the first time in my career, I took it to a second-level review. The initial adjustments made by the appraiser werenโt fair, but my team and I fought hardโand won! That Veteran and his family are now settled into their new home.
โจ Lesson 2: Helping hurricane-displaced renters become homeowners.
After the devastating hurricanes this year, I had the privilege of helping renters who thought homeownership was out of reach. Through the FHA 203H loan program, which offers 100% financing, we made the impossible possible. We closed just last week, and now those families have a place to truly call home.
These experiences remind me why I do what I doโto go the extra mile for my clients and ensure every story has a happy ending.
