Assistance is available for some people who didn't have flood insurance or not enough.

Through the FEMA Individuals and Households Program, eligible individuals and households who are uninsured or under-insured can get assistance. Here’s the link to the home page: https://www.fema.gov/assistance/individual/program
• People can apply online, get assisted by phone at 1-800-621-3362 or in person.
IHP Assistance may include:
 Funds for temporary housing while you are unable to live in your home, such as rental assistance or reimbursement for hotel costs
 Funds to support the repair or replacement of owner-occupied homes that serve as the household’s primary residence, including privately-owned access routes, such as driveways, roads, or bridges
 A temporary housing unit, if approved for the disaster, when you are not able to use rental assistance due to a lack of available housing resources
 Funds for hazard mitigation assistance to help eligible homeowners repair or rebuild stronger, more durable homes
 Funds for other uninsured or under-insured disaster-caused expenses and serious needs

Here's the latest. Even though most tracks are projecting a direct hit in the panhandle, please be prepared for strong wind and storm surge. There's also the possibility of an unexpected turn as it gets closer to landfall. We've seen that happen in the past around here.
