🔥Fire safety matters wherever business is being done or built.

As we wrap up Fire Prevention Week, we’re reminding business owners, contractors, and insurance agents that lithium-ion batteries power many of the devices and tools used in commercial buildings and on construction sites.

Help reduce fire risks with these safer charging practices:

🔌 Use chargers approved by the device or tool manufacturer.

🧰 Inspect batteries and power tools for damage before use. Take any battery that becomes unusually hot, swollen, cracked, or produces an odor out of service.

✅ Charge devices on a hard, flat surface away from combustible materials.

🚪 Keep charging equipment and larger battery-powered tools away from exits and evacuation routes.

🔋 Unplug devices and tools once they are fully charged.
