The FUA State Office team spent the day volunteering with the Children’s Home Society, assembling care bags filled with essentials like toothbrushes, soap, and lotion for young adults preparing to transition into independence. In addition, we were proud to donate $2,500 to support the Society’s ongoing efforts to help those in need.

Debbie Fester at Farmers Union Insurance | National General Named Our Next WOW Warrior

Debbie has been instrumental in helping us both maintain and grow our Farmers Union book of business. Whether it's assisting with underwriting questions, offering flexibility and creative solutions, supporting our agency events, or stepping in to help with issues outside her direct underwriting responsibilities, Debbie consistently goes above and beyond.

One recent example occurred in June when 100 mph winds hit Bemidji, MN, late Friday night into early Saturday morning. Anticipating a large volume of claims, we contacted Debbie on her personal cell phone early Saturday morning to alert her to the situation and ask for support.

Debbie immediately took action. She alerted the claims department and helped coordinate a streamlined process where the affected agent could submit a spreadsheet of insureds by email. Claims were then entered by the company every few hours, accelerating the start of the claims process. Debbie even followed up that evening with a phone call to ensure everything was on track. Her efforts allowed the agent to deliver prompt, exceptional service to clients during a time when the entire city was without power and services. This early response gave the company a critical head start and helped the agent manage the surge in workload.

Debbie also played a key role in establishing and supporting a farm requote process when one of our carriers exited the market. Her flexibility and guidance allowed our agents to smoothly navigate the transition, resulting in a high retention rate and substantial growth for Farmers Union. Debbie’s long-standing commitment to Farmers Union and our agents, marked by problem-solving, proactive communication, and truly WOW-level service, makes her a clear choice for nomination as a WOW Warrior.

Last week, Farmers Union Agency proudly joined thousands of attendees at the annual Minnesota Farm Fest a tradition that brings together agriculture leaders, local producers, and rural community members from across the state.

Several of our FUA Agents were on-site, ready to connect, answer questions, and share how we help protect what matters most to Minnesota’s farmers and rural families. From walking the grounds and visiting with producers to exploring the latest in ag innovation, our team embraced the opportunity to listen, learn, and support the people who feed our communities.

The event was filled with insightful conversations about challenges facing farmers today, rising input costs, unpredictable weather patterns, and the importance of strong risk management. It also reminded us why our work matters: protecting farms, families, and livelihoods so rural communities can thrive for generations to come.

Beyond the business side, Farm Fest was a celebration of agriculture’s resilience and community spirit. The warm welcomes, shared stories, and genuine connections reminded us that agriculture isn’t just an industry, it’s a way of life.

We had an unforgettable Summer Spectacular! A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at this year’s Summer Spectacular at Cragun’s Resort! While Mother Nature threw a curveball and sidelined our golf and boating plans, she couldn’t dampen the energy, connection, and fun that make this event always special each year.

Even under stormy skies, the positivity, laughter, and spirit was unstoppable. The conversations shared and memories made reminded us once again that our people are what truly set this organization apart.
