Nashville Foodscapes in Tennessee borrowed funds to convert to a worker cooperative. 10+ workers bought this business that specializes in edible gardens and sustainable design, improving their clients contribution to ecologically-sound systems and their food. We had a great time at U.S. Co-ops conference in DC last week. We love hearing about the work in co-ops of all kinds throughout the country as we work to build an economy meant for all. Christina, our Executive Director, mc'ed for two days, we tabled, and entered the film contents. We had a great time in Boston for the US Federation of Worker Cooperatives national worker co-op conference. Michelle moderated a panel with four other co-op lenders where all attendees could ask any question they wanted about borrowing for their co-op. Right afterwards, Esther, Ashley, and Michelle held “Resilient, Ready, and Thriving: navigating uncertainty using loans and other tools” a workshop made just for worker co-ops addressing a volatile landscape.
