Stories matter, and so do second chances. We were proud to sponsor and attend Small Sums' Stories Matter Fashion Show last week, an evening celebrating the resilience, determination, and success of workers overcoming homelessness.

Small Sums helps remove barriers to employment by providing the specific clothing, footwear, tools, and work essentials people need to start a new job with confidence. The fashion show paired inspiring personal stories with runway looks that reflected each individual's journey from instability to opportunity.

BankCherokee team members continued their Community Impact Month volunteering efforts last week at Today's Harvest- a Fresh, Free Market operated by Open Cupboard.

Our team helped restock inventory throughout the market and assisted shoppers during their visit. It was a great opportunity to learn more about the organization's programs and see firsthand how they make fresh, healthy food accessible to thousands of people in our community.

Seeing the market in action was a powerful reminder of how organizations like Open Cupboard help meet everyday needs with dignity, care, and compassion. We were grateful to serve alongside their team and experience the importance of that work up close 🧡

BankCherokee team members continued their Community Impact Month volunteering efforts at Neighbors, Inc. on September 10.

Our team helped out in the "Nook," a food shelf that provides quick access to groceries for local households with no appointment required. In just two hours, we helped distribute food to more than 100 households.

On Sunday, we were proud to host the Wiener Dog Races as part of Paws on Grand! We loved seeing so many people and pups out enjoying the festivities 🐾

Beyond the fun, the event helped raise support for local animal rescue organizations and connect pets in need with future families and other important resources. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, cheered on the racers, supported local businesses along Grand Avenue, and helped make the day such a success.

Last week, several BankCherokee team members had a great time volunteering at the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery 🧡

The Nursery provides free, voluntary overnight care for young children and crisis support for families when they need it most. We were grateful to help prepare and serve meals and snacks for the children in their care and to play a small part in the important work they do to support families throughout our community.
