Day one of our CU Executive Forum is underway in stunning Nisswa. We kicked things off with futurist and economist Shawn DuBravac, PhD, CFA who challenged us to focus on the forces reshaping tomorrow's realities. We explored the accelerating pace of technological change, shifting consumer expectations, and the opportunities those can present to us as credit unions.

And because Minnesota weather always keeps us on our toes, an ominous afternoon forecast (something about hail) prompted a quick pivot in plans, so boat rides and disc golf turned into several spirited rounds of bingo.

On to tomorrow, when we'll hear from Filene's Christie Kimbell and enjoy more time to connect and converse.

The Fraud Fighters are hosting a tech recycling event in Brainerd today. The free event allows anyone to drop off devices that might contain personal information for safe disposal.

The Fraud Fighters is a collaborative effort bringing together teams from Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union Brainerd BN Credit Union Crow Wing Power Credit Union Members Cooperative Credit Union Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union Together, they’re providing education and resources to help protect community members from financial fraud.

A group made up of local credit unions will host a tech recycling event from 8-11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, in the Mid Minnesota employee parking lot along Front Street.

Gov. Walz has signed our bill allowing state-chartered credit unions offer custodial accounts for digital assets. This gives Minnesotans a safer way to manage crypto — strengthening protections against fraud, hacks, and loss under regulatory oversight.

We were proud to celebrate our top individual honorees at ACCELERATE 26 last week: Brent Rempe, President & CEO of First Alliance Credit Union, was named the 2026 Outstanding Professional of the Year, and Kenneth Kurth, Board Member of Mayo Employees Federal Credit Union, received the 2026 Outstanding Director of the Year award.
