Minnesota Housing For 50 years, we’ve invested in safe, decent and affordable housing and strong communities. Minnesota Housing is the state’s housing finance agency.

We finance housing that low and moderate-income Minnesotans can afford while helping Minnesotans buy and fix up their homes. Along with fostering strong communities, we provide resources to stabilize neighborhoods, communities and families. We work cooperatively with others to support the development and preservation of affordable rental housing. For more than 50 years, we’ve worked to provide access to safe, decent and affordable housing and to build stronger communities across the state. In 2024, we distributed $1.96 billion in resources and served 73,650 households. Social Media

What excellent news. ❤️ We are incredibly proud of all the folks involved in this effort!

Congratulations to Ramsey County for effectively ending Veteran homelessness!

Across all 10 of Minnesota’s Continuum of Care regions – covering all 87 counties – we have built systems that ensure any case of veteran homelessness in Minnesota is rare, brief, and non-recurring. Today's certification of Ramsey County's data by Governor Walz follows a rigorous review process and marks an important milestone in Minnesota's commitment to ensure those who have served have the stability of home and the dignity they deserve.

We must continue to ensure that what we have built together is sustained. We must remain focused on what we know works to end homelessness: homes that are affordable, linked to any services that are needed to best support an individual or a family. Dependable funding scaled to the need. A community who dares to believe that ending homelessness is possible – and then shows up to make that vision a reality.

While in Detroit for the NCSHA conference, a few of us got to tour The Encore, a 12-story building being converted into senior apartments. These 77 one-bedroom homes are part of an ongoing neighborhood revitalization project. Residents will be connected to parks and community spaces, daily conveniences, and wellness resources in a walkable Detroit neighborhood.

Saint Paul's Selby Ave JazzFest has grown from a 600-person block party in 2002 to a signature Twin Cities event attended by 10,000 people! 🤯 🎶🎷 We savored the music while doling out valuable information on our programs, from homeownership (mnhousing.gov/home/homeownership/buy-home-refinance) to home improvement (mnhousing.gov/home/homeownership/improve-your-home) and more.

Take a look at the "Before" pictures: You don't have to be a structural engineer to see that Birchwood Apartments was in bad shape. Years of deferred maintenance, aging systems, and water damage had put the building at risk of being lost. At last week's grand re-opening in Grand Marais we celebrated not just saving these affordable homes, but preserving them for years to come.🔨🏠✨

This historic school in Sandstone, Minnesota, was converted into housing! All 32 units, a mixture of one and two bedrooms, are fully leased, helping alleviate a regional housing shortage.

Now known as the Bookmatch, these apartments also preserve a beloved local landmark.❣️Dilapidated and vacant since the early 2000s, the building nevertheless retained its strong, 24-inch-thick sandstone walls. The stones were quarried just down the road in 1901. Locals referred to it as "the Rock."

Minnesota Housing was just one of more than a dozen funding sources that pitched in to bring "the Rock" back to life, including:
