Happy Constitution Week! Sept. 17-23

Our Preamble reads:
“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

What an amazing country and an amazing proclamation of our freedom. In 1955 the Daughters of the American Revolution petitioned Congress to approve an official annual celebration of our Constitution. On August 2, 1956, President Eisenhower declared that every September 17th thereafter would mark the beginning of a week-long celebration. Enjoy this week and be thankful for our rights and liberties that were established under the Constitution.
