At Vallencourt Construction, the people are what bring every project to life. Behind the equipment and the timelines are crews led by experienced professionals who take pride in doing the work right.
Charles Blackwell is one of them. Over 5 years with the company, he's moved back and forth between the asphalt crew and the grade crew, building roadways and parking lots and learning the grading side of the work along the way.
For Charles, it comes down to wanting to earn a good living and hit the goals he's set for himself in life. That's what keeps him going every day.
His goal looking ahead is to have himself set up for retirement.
His advice for anyone coming up: pay attention, listen, and soak up every tip, technique, and piece of advice you can. The better you get at what you're doing, he says, the more money you can make.
These stories are about more than job titles. They are about the people who make the work possible.
