Here is an article about Leonard Padilla. He is quietly living in Colorado out of the fast paced life he led for more than 40 years. We talk every week, and he still has his wit and desire to help people. While he may not be able to loan you the money he once did, he may not be able to solve your problems, I will tell you he stills cares about the people of Sacramento. His heart and brains are equal in size, and I hope that everyone who knows him, can say a prayer or a thought that will give him the strength to live a peaceful and happy life as he reflects on all he has done in life. Pay attention to what is going on at the Capitol with regard to eliminating the bail industry and replacing it with a government operated program that will ultimately cost the taxpayers of California "billions" of dollars with no where near the effectiveness of bail agents helping making sure that justice is served.

Sen. Bob Hertzberg, D-Los Angeles, and Assemblyman Rob Bonta, D-Alameda, announced in December their plan to overhaul the bail system in California. An updated plan envisions a system of risk assessment tools and pretrial services based on a model Washington D.C. has used for more than two decades.
