💙A huge thank you to PRIDE for including CalABLE in the 4th annual I AM ABLE Disability Job Fair! We met many of the more than 2,400 skilled job seekers who attended the event. We send them all good wishes in finding a job that is a perfect fit for their talents.

CalABLE was honored to be able to share information at Down Syndrome Information Alliance's 3·2·1 Co****le Classic! There was a co****le competition, a prize raffle, popsicles by 321 Pop, and lots of booths for great organizations and businesses that offer support to people with Down Syndrome.

We were so happy to collaborate with PRIDE Industries again this year. A big thank‑you to the California State Treasurer’s Office for their continued support of our program, and to our partner agencies, California Department of Rehabilitation and California Department of Developmental Services, for their commitment to increasing disability access to programs and benefits for all Californians.

The I AM ABLE Disability Job Fair is the only hiring event in the region designed FOR people with disabilities BY people with disabilities.

How to be prepared to open your account? Have information about the beneficiary and their eligibility ready:

– First and last name
– Social security or tax identification number
– Date of birth
– Phone number
– Residential address
– Email Address
– Work status (if applicable)
– Fund your account with $25.00.
*If you are an Authorized Legal Representative, you’ll need to provide information about yourself as well.

Tip: If you plan to make a contribution to your new CalABLE account, have your bank account information ready!

☀️Celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month🌞 yesterday at the State Capitol! We were especially excited to introduce our new intern, Taim, who jumped right in and helped make the event a success.

💪💙NDEAM recognizes the achievements of workers with disabilities and promotes inclusive, equitable employment practices. It encourages employers, organizations, and communities to prioritize accessibility, remove barriers, and create workplaces where everyone can succeed.

⭐👏A huge thank you to CHP for including us in the event and to all the State Agencies and others that were there to share about opportunities within their programs. And, a big shout out to Southside Unlimited for providing music for the event!🎤🎶
