Pending home sales are down 22% from last year and 2.7% from last month. According to Realtor.com new listings are down 25% from last year. On average there are 3 offers for each listing. Demand is there but simply put inventory is low. If there were more homes for sale, there would be more sales.

Initial claims are 21,000 higher than expected and continuing claims or those that continue to receive benefits rose 69,000. The latter is the highest within the last 14 months.
