• Can the team operate smoothly after a transition?
• Are customers likely to transfer to a new owner?
• Are the lease and key agreements transferable?
• Are the financials clean and easy to explain?
• Are the day-to-day processes documented?
• Is there a clear path for future growth?

These are the types of questions buyers, lenders, and advisors will ask.

That is why the first step is not always listing the business for sale.

Sometimes the better first step is understanding how the business would be viewed by a buyer — and what can be improved before going to market.
