The Fed met… but that doesn’t automatically mean mortgage rates changed. 👀

One of the biggest homebuying myths is that the Federal Reserve sets mortgage rates. They don’t.

Here’s what actually happens:
📉 The Fed controls the federal funds rate (a short-term interest rate).
🏡 Mortgage rates are influenced by things like the bond market, inflation, and investor expectations.
📊 Sometimes mortgage rates move after a Fed meeting… and sometimes they barely move at all.

If you’ve been waiting for the “perfect” rate before buying, you could be waiting longer than you think.

The smartest move? Know what you qualify for today and have a plan. If rates improve later, refinancing may be an option.
