Today is National Jerky Day 🥩🌶️

So I’m sharing one of my favorite jerky recipes - because a little prep today goes a long way for enjoying something great later.

That’s also how I think about insurance: plan ahead so you can feel confident when life happens.

National Jerky Day Recipe:
Dr. Pepper Jalapeno Beef Jerky
Sweet + spicy (and you can adjust the heat to your level!)

Ingredients:
2–3 lb sliced thin meat
2 cups Dr. Pepper (1 1/2 cans)
2–3 jalapenos, sliced & seeded
2 Tbsp kosher salt
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder

Directions:
Make marinade: Simmer ingredients 10–15 min until reduced by half. Chill completely.
Marinate beef: Refrigerate 8–12 hrs (overnight).
Preheat: Smoker/oven to ~170°F. (Maple/cherry wood recommended.)
Dry strips: Blot to remove excess moisture.
Dehydrate/cook: Dehydrate on highest setting per your dehydrator directions. Rotate trays. Cool & enjoy.

Happy Brother’s Day, this day honors the brothers in our lives. Brothers come in many shapes and sizes and so do their relationships. Today’s spotlight features a few of the brothers from our office team: Joe and his brother Ben, and Lexi, our Customer Service Manager, and her brother Sean.

We’re thrilled to partner with Lakeshore Cyclery from Storm Lake to sponsor a fun and educational Bike Rodeo for the K-2nd graders at East Sac Elementary this Friday! 🚲✨

Our goal? To help our youngest riders learn bike safety, build confidence, and have a blast while doing it! This event is all about community, fun, and keeping our kiddos safe while on two wheels.
