Would you have thrown these away? 👡✨
This morning, I spent a few minutes cleaning up a pair of sandals that most people probably would have tossed straight into the trash. They weren't ruined; they just needed a little attention and a bit of effort.
It got me thinking about how quickly we’ve become a "throwaway" culture—and not just with physical items.
Every day, small, wasteful actions sneak into our routines:
Replacing things that just need a quick fix or clean.
Letting subscriptions roll over that we don’t even use.
Tossing out food because we didn't plan our meals.
Buying cheap duplicates instead of taking care of what we already own.
These moments might seem minor at the time, but wasteful habits are financial leaks. When we constantly choose convenience over care, we aren't just throwing away items—we are tossing away our hard-earned money and delaying our bigger financial goals.
True financial wellness isn't just about how much you make or invest; it’s about the respect you show to the resources you already have. Before you buy the replacement or toss the old, ask yourself: Does this actually need replacing, or does it just need a little attention?
Let’s challenge ourselves to be more intentional this week. What’s one thing you can rescue, repair, or reuse instead of replacing?
