Hello. I wanted to reflect on some things. This time of year has always been special to me, for many reasons. I believe it’s just a magical time of year. Everything just kind of feels different. From the cold weather, to the holly jolly movies, the Christmas cookies, or all the amazing lights all over. The joy. The spirit. It’s great (for me).

I understand that this time of year is not the same as my feelings or outlook. It might be different for many reasons.

But what drives me to reflecting is the end of the year coming up. Another trip around that calendar. All the new faces. The new connections and the new opportunities to change or impact others as best as I can.

I personally take pride in the fact that when I do my job, I do it with my heart leading the way. I’ll take the time. I’ll listen and help out the absolute best I can.

I work with people. People who have been in some situation that ended up with them or someone else calling my number. I don’t take that lightly. My priority is that person. My priority is that the situation they are in can get slightly improved by what I do for a job.

This has been my view since I’ve began this journey. And since then, I’ve made connections that have lasted years based on one interaction. I’ve been blessed to have met some people who really have had an impact on me and the way I look at life. I’ve expanded my view and have become more of a mature person. I’ve grown.

And that’s all thanks to every single person I’ve ever done business with. Every single one. From a simple missed court date and meeting up at a magistrate office, to having someone who hasn’t been able to get McDonald’s in years finally be able to hug their family and relax in front of their tv.

It’s all amazing.

Thank you. Every single one of you. I hope for amazing things and blessings to come to you. I hope that you also reflect and grow. I hope that you smile as you read this and think of the time you met me. (And remember one of those awesome dad jokes I needed to deploy) 🤣😂

SCAM ALERT – FRAUDULENT “MAGISTRATE/BOND” CALLS

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office wants to alert the public about a recent scam targeting families of individuals who have just been arrested.

Last night, a local family received multiple phone calls from (586)327-3516 from someone claiming to be a bondsman at the magistrate’s office. The caller stated that a recently arrested family member had a $20,000 bond and asked the family to send money.

When the family attempted to verify the information and asked to meet in person, the caller repeatedly avoided the request and eventually hung up. The family later confirmed in person at the magistrate’s office that the real bond was significantly lower and that the individual had not contacted them.

What makes this scam especially concerning is that the caller appeared to know immediately that the arrest had taken place and had obtained accurate contact information for multiple family members.

We want to ensure no one in our community becomes a victim of this scam.

If you receive a call like this:
Do NOT send money or make payments over the phone.Verify all bond information directly with the magistrate’s office.Ask to meet in person. Scammers will avoid this.Hang up and call the agency directly using publicly listed numbers—never the number the caller gives you.Report suspicious calls to the Sheriff’s Office immediately.
Important Reminder
Law enforcement and magistrate’s offices do not call demanding money, wire transfers, Venmo/CashApp/Zelle payments, or gift cards for bond or release. All legitimate bonds must be handled in person through approved processes.
Please share this information to help protect others in our community.
