Keeping our community safe- one Fire Prevention Kit at a time! 🔥🚒

Our Ruston office is proud to once again partner with our local heroes at the Lincoln Parish Fire Protection District #1 to provide Fire Safety Kits to further their efforts in keeping our community informed and safe!

This year’s theme is Safe Charging, focusing on everyday fire risks that many of us don’t think twice about- charging our phones, laptops, gaming devices, and other electronic devices. These kits include educational materials that can be shared throughout our community, focusing on the importance of fire-safety in the home. 🏡

Fire prevention starts with awareness, and teaching our kids safe habits early can make a lasting difference! Thank you to the Lincoln Parish Fire Department and all of our local first responders for all that you do to keep our community informed and safe! 🧑‍🚒🧯

We’re wrapping up Fire Safety Week, and we’re here to remind you that small habits can make a BIG difference! 🔥

Our phones, tablets, smart watches, and other devices keep us connected, but did you know that how we charge them matters too? 🔌 Today we’re sharing a few tips to keep your home and family safe:

⚡️Use The Right Charger- Choose manufacturer-approved/compatible, safety-certified chargers.

🔌 Check Your Cords- Frayed wires, damaged plugs, and loose connections are signs it’s time for replacement!

🛋️ Onky Charge On Hard Surfaces- Keep charging devices off of couches, beds, blankets, and pillows where heat can build up.

💤 Be Mindful of Overnight Charging- Follow your manufacturer’s instructions and unplug devices once fully charged.

🌡️ Keep Devices Cool- Never cover up a charging device! Be sure to avoid extreme heat.

A few small changes can make the biggest difference in protecting home sweet home! 🏡 Be sure to take a moment this week to check your charging habits, yes your smoke detectors, and make sure your family knows what to do in case of an emergency! 🧯

Last week, we had the honor of attending the The College of Business Employer’s Reception hosted by the LA Tech College of Business! We spent some time talking to their students about the insurance business, the various careers it offers, and reviewing resumes. We are so excited to see what the future holds for these students as they prepare to begin their careers!

A big thank you to Louisiana Tech University and the College of Business for having us! ❤️💙🐾
