Our Kim Dupree State Farm Ruston High School May Male Athlete of the Month for Indoor Track & Field is Josiah Morgan! 🎉
This outstanding junior sprinter played a key role in taking his relay team to state this year! Coach Trey Smith says:
“Josiah played a major role in one of the most successful relay seasons in recent program history. During the indoor season, he was a member of the 3rd place state-finishing 4x200m relay team that posted an impressive time of 1:30.80 at the indoor state championships.
He continued that momentum into the outdoor season as a key contributor on Ruston’s sprint relay squads that consistently posted some of the top times in Louisiana. Josiah helped lead relay teams that recorded state-leading marks in the 4x100m relay (41.87), 4x200m relay (1:26.29), and 4x400m relay (3:18.00), showcasing his versatility, speed, and competitiveness across multiple events.
Beyond track and field, Josiah is an outstanding multi-sport athlete who also excels as a wide receiver for the Ruston High School football team. His athletic ability and dedication have earned him the opportunity to continue his football career at the University of Houston, where he recently announced his commitment. Josiah’s work ethic, team-first mentality, and ability to compete at a high level in multiple sports make him a tremendous representative of Ruston High School athletics.”
With team-focused mentality and proven hard work, we can’t wait to see where this incredible athlete’s senior season takes him! ⭐️ Congratulations, Josiah- we are so proud!
