The Enhanced Premium Tax Credits that were part of the American Rescue Act will expire on Dec. 31, 2025. Auto-reenrollment has been completed, and consumers have begun to receive their notices. Below you will find some important information that will be helpful to you and your consumers as they receive notices and when open enrollment begins:

The rates currently displayed when plan shopping for 2026 plans align with the current regulations. These reflect rates that will be effective when the enhanced tax credits expire on Dec. 31, 2025. These are the rates that will be reflected in notices consumers receive for auto-reenrollment.
If Congress votes to extend the enhanced tax credits for PY2026, consumers will receive a new eligibility notice, which will reflect their newly calculated premium tax credit and net premium rate for the plan they are enrolled in.
If consumers wish to change plans based on new information, they will have the opportunity to do that during open enrollment, which runs from Nov. 1, 2025 through Jan. 30, 2026. Changes made by Dec. 31, 2025 will have an effectuation date of Jan. 1, 2026. Changes made between Jan. 1, 2026 and Jan. 30. 2026 will have an effectuation date of Feb. 1, 2026.
