Corn:

2. Ear Rots - Some ear rots are caused by heat stress during pollination. Many of them create toxins in the grain. Check potentially damaged fields when ears are in the dent stage. If you have potential losses, tell your insurance agent right away. They may need to send samples away for testing before harvest. When harvesting - Increase the fan speed on the combine to blow diseased, lighter kernels out the back. If you have drying capabilities - Dry hot and fast down to 13% moisture and cool as quickly as possible.

Soybeans:

2. Corn Earworm and Kudzu Bugs have been seen in high numbers this year, many over threshold. ( https://soybeans.ces.ncsu.edu/thresholds/ ) Be sure to check your fields.
