I’m Juanita Stephens, a Financial Planner in the Austin, Texas area. I have been a financial professional since 2004. My career began at IBM as a Programmer and Software Development Manager for 18 years. I successfully made the transition from corporate to entrepreneur in 1995 when my husband and I opened a bookstore, and later converted that business to an e-commerce gifts and collectibles store.

In 2004 I became an Agent/Owner with Farmers Insurance and Financial Services, proudly serving all of Texas. I consider myself an educator. Through my practice, we offer free financial literacy classes. A native Austinite, I served as a Founder and School Board Vice President for Meridian Charter School in Round Rock, TX for six years. I served as Board Chair for the Capital City African American Chamber of Commerce in Austin, TX. I am active in my church choir and Prayer Shawl Ministry. I have been quoted in newspaper and magazine articles, including Austin Business Journal and Ujima Magazine. I conduct monthly “Wisdom, Women & Wealth” educational seminars and have been guest speaker at conferences such as the Executive Women in Texas Government. I also host a “Wisdom & Wealth” seminar catered to individuals of all ages. I was featured on the ABC/Yahoo Remake America series. I am married to Paul Stephens. We have two wonderful children and two beautiful grandchildren. We spend our time fishing and gardening. I am an avid crochet buff. I try to treat my clients the same way I would like to be treated. I strive to build long-term relationships where we get to know each other, make informed financial decisions that help you build your wealth, and plan for your future. Below are just some of the items that my customers are concerned about. We address those concerns and put a robust plan in place to tackle whatever comes your way.

Stocks surged in April, delivering their strongest monthly gains in five years as solid economic data, easing geopolitical tensions, and upbeat first-quarter earnings lifted investor sentiment. The Nasdaq climbed 15.29%, the S&P 500 rose 10.42%, and the Dow gained 7.14%, while Canada’s S&P/TSX Composite added 3.65%. With no Fed meeting in May, attention turns to remarks from Fed officials and how evolving economic data may shape expectations moving forward. From \$34.1 billion in U.S. spending to the popularity of Mother’s Day dining and gifts, this month’s By the Numbers highlights how families celebrate the occasion.

Stocks fell in the first quarter amid concerns that artificial intelligence (AI) could disrupt certain industries and geopolitical issues that unsettled investors.
