🎉 Help us welcome the newest member of the Finkemeier Insurance Services team, John Houston!

John joins us as an insurance agent and producer, helping clients with home, auto, life, and health insurance while bringing even more options to our California clients through the independent insurance market.

A few fun facts about John:
📚 His bookshelf includes Moby Dick, Paradise Lost, and Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics (yes, he’s a serious reader).
🏋️ He’s an avid lifter who somehow enjoys Bulgarian split squats.
👨👩👦 Most importantly, he’s a family man who is passionate about helping other young families build their future right here in our community.

One thing I love about John is that he genuinely cares about helping people navigate life’s big decisions and find solutions that fit their unique situation. That’s exactly the kind of person we want serving our clients.

☕️ You wake up, walk into the kitchen and it’s flooded.

Dishwasher leaked all night.
Floors soaked.
Cabinets wet.

First thought is usually, "how much is this going to cost?"

Here’s the good news 👇
This is exactly when insurance does what it’s supposed to do.

Most homeowners policies include something called loss of use coverage. That means if your home isn’t livable during repairs, your insurance can cover a hotel or Airbnb while everything gets fixed. 🏨

Typically, you’ll pay upfront, submit receipts, and get reimbursed. The goal is simple, you shouldn’t be paying for a second place to live while still covering your mortgage.

And trust me, living somewhere else while contractors are tearing up your kitchen makes life a lot easier.

If you ever have a water claim, make sure you ask your adjuster about loss of use.
